Don’t waste these lazy, hazy, crazy days of summer! Get outside and explore Scouting in your own backyard!
All you have to do is click on any of the activity links in the chart below and you will automatically be directed to instructions for that activity which can be printed out for easy reference. Follow the instructions and do your best to complete the activity. You can do as many of the activities that you like in any of the categories and challenge levels and you can do them at your own pace. There are well over 50 different activities in 7 categories and 3 challenge levels, so there is sure to be something for everyone!
Send us any of your pictures or short videos working on an activity and we’ll share them on our Facebook! Email [email protected].
You can also earn a special, limited edition Backyard Summer Challenge Patch by completing any 5 activities within the program period (August 12 – September 6). To receive the patch, you must complete the online Backyard Activity Record and fill in the activities you complete before the Backyard Summer Challenge closes on September 13. Follow the instructions on the form to send it to us and we will mail you your patch!
The first 25 scouts to complete more than 10 activities (based on electronic receipt of Backyard Activity Record) will receive a super special, gold-bordered Backyard Summer Challenge patch plus be entered into a raffle to award one Cub Scouting Weekender Package – a $160 value from our Scout Shop!
