AWARDS and RECOGNITIONS

SILVER BEAVER AWARD

For distinguished and noteworthy service of exceptional character to youth by registered Scouters in any program area within the territory under the jurisdiction of the local council.

TRAILBLAZER AWARD

The Trailblazer Award is a council award presented to a Scouter who has achieved significant accomplishments on a council level over a 24-month period. The accomplishments should be directly related to the Council Vision Statement and Strategic Plan.

YOUTH LEADERSHIP AWARD

Presented to youth members who have achieved excellence in scholastics, shown outstanding involvement in the community, and demonstrated exceptional dedication and outstanding leadership qualities in the council.

ALUMNUS OF THE YEAR AWARD

Scouting Alumni Association’s highest council recognition. The award was established to recognize alumni of the Boy Scouts of America who, over a sustained period of time, have used the skills and values they learned through their association with Scouting to make significant and long-lasting contributions to their local communities through their careers, avocations, and Scouting.

EAGLE SCOUT HALL OF FAME AWARD

The Patriots’ Path Council Eagle Scout Hall of Fame Award was established to recognize Eagle Scouts who, after 25 years or longer of having received the Eagle Scout Award, have reached a high level of success in their chosen field and demonstrated a strong record of volunteer leadership service to the Patriots’ Path Council and their community.

OTHER AWARDS AND INFORMATION

To recognize registered youth and adults who have performed an attempt to save a life or to recognize notable acts of service that need not involve attempts of rescue or risk to self, but put into practice Scouting skills and/or ideals.

Recommendations must be submitted through the council on the applicable BSA form within 6 months of the occurrence of the event, and must be supported by written statements, photos and other information.

It shall be wholly within the discretion of the National Court of Honor to determine, from evidence presented, which award, if any, shall be made. Awards are issued in the name of the Boy Scouts of America. These awards are as follows:

Honor Medal With Crossed Palms — The Honor Medal With Crossed Palms may be awarded in exceptional cases to a youth member or adult leader who has demonstrated both unusual heroism and extraordinary skill or resourcefulness in saving or attempting to save life at extreme risk to self.

Honor Medal — The Honor Medal may be awarded to a youth member or adult leader who has demonstrated unusual heroism and skill in saving or attempting to save a life at considerable risk to self.

Heroism Award — The Heroism Award may be awarded to a youth member or adult leader who has demonstrated heroism and skill in saving or attempting to save a life at minimum risk to self.

Medal of Merit — The Medal of Merit may be awarded to a youth member or adult leader who has performed some outstanding act of service of a rare or exceptional character that reflects an uncommon degree of concern for the well-being of others.

National Certificate of Merit — The National Certificate of Merit, No. 92-214, may be awarded to a youth member or adult leader who has performed a significant act of service that is deserving of special national recognition.
