Have you signed up for Summer Camp?

Our core objective is to build strong personal values, family values and character in young people by providing program activities that teach, support and encourage such values. But most of all, youth members and their families, come to us for a great time and for adventures that will be cherished for a lifetime.

Family Fun for All

Question: The unit in my town meets when I have other commitments. What can I do?
Answer: Use the beAscout.org website to search for other units nearby. You can join any unit.

Cub Scouts

Boys in grades grades 1-5 join a Cub Scout den specifically for their grade. All the dens are organized in a unit called a pack.

First grade boys are in a Tiger den. Second grade boys are in a Wolf den. Third grade boys are in a Bear den. Fourth and fifth grade boys are in a two year program called Webelos. This program transitions from leader led to partially boy led which which helps the Scouts prepare for Boy Scouts. Usually in February or March of the second year the Webelos cross over to Boy Scouts.

Each level has a handbook for requirements that the Scouts work through to earn their rank. Read more about Cub Scouts in the Cub Scout Adventures booklet.

Boy Scouts

Boys ages 5-12 join Boy Scouts are organized together in a unit called a troop. You can join Boy Scouts at any grade. You do not need to have been a Cub Scout to join Boy Scouts.

In Boy Scouts, older Scouts plan the meetings and outings for the troop. Volunteer trained adult leaders support the youth leaders. The Scouts work through rank requirements in the Boy Scout hand book which teaches them life skills – first aid, community service, citizenship, character and more. Jockey Hollow

The basic premise of Scouting for youth with special needs is that every young person wants to participate fully and be respected like every other member of the troop, pack or crew. While there are, by necessity, units exclusively composed of Scouts with disabilities, experience has shown that Scouting usually succeeds best when every youth is part of a den or patrol in a traditional unit. We provide support with a committee comprised of parents of special needs youth and professionals from a diverse range of expertise in working with individuals with disAbilities.
