Cub Scout Camp for Cubs, Webelos, & Families

Patriots’ Path Council is proud to offer a multitude of summer camp options for boys, girls, and families.  Whether you’re looking for day camp, evening camp, or overnight camp we have an awesome adventure for you and your child! 

  • Our day and evening camps are open to ALL boys and girls grades 2 – 5. Tigers are welcome to join with a legal guardian.
  • Family camping weekends are open to all families. 
  • Webelos Resident Camp Weekends are open to all Cub Scouts entering grades 4-5 in the fall with their parent or adult leader.

Located on the 1,000-acre Mount Allamuchy Scout Reservation in Stanhope, NJ, Camp Wheeler has been operating for more than 40 years. Camp operates Monday through Friday during July and August, from 8:45 am – 4:15 pm.  You can choose to attend the entire week OR choose a mini week session and attend Tuesday through Thursday at a reduced fee. Early drop-off/late pick-up is available for a nominal fee.

We offer action-packed days with lots of fun — and some learning too. Our nationally accredited staff is youth protection trained and includes many teachers and college students majoring in education. We maintain a staff to youth ratio of 1:5 or better. Bus transportation is provided from more than 45 locations throughout Morris, Sussex and northwest Somerset counties.

  • Mini Weeks (Tuesday – Thursday) at a reduced price.

Safety First

  • Camp Wheeler is a nationally accredited camp and is inspected by local, state, and national organizations.
  • Our staff is fully trained and background checked.
  • Lifeguards are certified.
  • Camp Wheeler has an on-site, state certified, EMT or RN.
  • Parents have access to our emergency alert system.

Family Campfire

All campers and their families are invited to attend our campfire Thursday evening at 6:45 pm at Camp Wheeler. We encourage families to come to watch their campers perform in their den skits, join in songs and cheers. Awards such as who caught the biggest fish, who moved up an ability group, and lastly which den is the best den of the week is given out at the campfire.

Early drop-off and late pick-up are available for an additional fee.

    • Early drop-off (7-8:30 AM)- $25 per youth, per week.
    • Late pick-up (4:30-6:30 PM)- $25 per youth, per week.

  • Multiple Week Discount: Take $25 off of each additional session of camp
  • Sibling Discount: Take $25 off of each additional sibling
  • Active Military Discount: Take 50% off of one session of camp – active military families (youth and adults) –contact our office for details/eligibility.

Orientation

Orientation, while not mandatory, is highly recommended for new and returning camper parents.

Orientation will be held at Camp Wheeler from 5:30 pm to 7:30 pm on the following Tuesday evenings: July 2, July 9, and  July 16.  Please bring your completed forms with you.

Regional Summer Day Camps

Patriots’ Path Council is proud to offer regional summer day camp for ALL boys and girls, Scouts and non-Scouts, entering grades 2-5 in the fall.  Tigers are welcome to join with a legal guardian.

Camp operates Monday through Friday 8:30 am – 4:30 pm.  Early drop-off/late pick-up is available for a nominal fee.

Our regional day camps offer outstanding activities for a full day of fun, learning, and adventure.  Campers are divided into small, well-supervised groups. Boys and girls are placed in same-gender Cub Scout dens.

The camp staff is fully trained and background checked and there is an on-site, state certified, EMT or RN.

Every day there’s something new to do, learn, and explore!

  • Monday: Scoutcraft

  • Wednesday: Shooting Sports including archery and BB shooting.
  • Thursday: Nature
  • Friday: STEM

Specialty Nights at Camp Wheeler in Stanhope, NJ is an evening program running on five Wednesday evenings from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm.  Each week, Specialty Nights at Camp Wheeler features a different activity for participants to experience. These programs are open to all boys and girls and a parent who are interested in that evening’s programs. Activities include aquatics, shooting sports, science & nature, and fishing. Pre-registration is not required but is appreciated.

Webelos Camping Weekends

Webelos Camping Weekends are 3 day/2 night camping experiences designed for Webelos and their parent or adult leader*. The program is held at Camp Wheeler in Stanhope, NJ and gives each Webelos Scout an opportunity to start working on adventures or activity badges, to learn more about the world we live in, and to develop a greater appreciation for the outdoors.

We offer two weekend-long sessions.  Register for one or both!

Webelos will have a phenomenal time at the BB gun range, archery range, waterfront (swimming, boating, and fishing), handicraft pavilion, ecology area, sports field, hiking, and more. They may also work on Webelos and Arrow of Light adventures (or activity badges) such as:

  • Aquanaut
  • Build It
  • Camper
  • Cast Iron Chef
  • Castaway
  • Earth Rocks (Geologist)
  • First Responder (Readyman)
  • Into the Wild (Naturalist)
  • Into the Woods (Forester)
  • Stronger, Faster, Higher (Athlete)
  • Webelos Walkabout

Parents

Webelos Camping Weekends are not only an amazing bonding adventure for you and your Scout, we also have special activities for you! This will be an experience you will never forget.

  • Try your hand at our Parent Shooting Program where we offer shotgun, archery, and .22 rifle experiences.
  • Have a blast natural rock climbing.
  • Take advantage of special training including Safe Swim Defense and Safety Afloat, Climb on Safely, Firearm Safety, and Introduction to Scout Leader Training.

Adult Leadership

*Adult leadership is required for all participants. Parents can come with their own Scouts. Or, you must have two adult den/pack leaders for the first eight Webelos and one more leader for every eight additional Webelos. Camp Wheeler can also provide adult leadership.

  • Adults – $115

Family camping weekends will take place at Camp Wheeler two summer weekends.  Bring your tent, camping supplies, food, and your family and enjoy all Camp Wheeler has to offer for only $75 per family!
