New Scout Shop Hours: Starting Monday, October 9, the Cedar Knolls Scout Shop will be open Monday-Thursday from 9:00 am to 7:30 pm, Friday from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm, Saturday from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm, closed on Sundays.
Scout Shop Sale Dates: The 10% off sale will now be a week-long event, November 4-11, excluding Sunday. This sale includes all items except awards/advancements, uniforms/insignia and custom/special orders. Limited to store stock only. We will not be open Thanksgiving weekend.

Fishawack’s Finest Fellowship Dinner and Annual Meeting: Our district annual meeting will be at the Fishawack’s Finest Fellowship Dinner, January 30, 2018, revised date! This is an opportunity to say thank you to a volunteer in your unit by naming them your Fishawack’s Finest for 2018.
2018 Klondike: Saturday, February 3, 2018 at Camp Somers, Mount Allamuchy Scout Reservation. Boy Scouts will test their winter outdoor skills. Webelos will be invited to attend mid-day to observe troops in action and for some fun activities.
2018 Spring Cub Family Camping: May 5-6, 2018 at Winnebago Scout Reservation. This a smaller event than the Cubelos. The district team runs some stations (rather than the packs) and lots of free time for each pack to do its own thing.
FOS 2018 Drive:. Thank you to the 7 units that have completed their 2018 FOS presentations and are already following up. And another 23 units who have already planned their FOS dates. We are still trying to schedule the remaining units in Fishawack so please reach out soon to Steve Minett, Fishawack FOS chair, [email protected].
District Award of Merit: Honors volunteers who have rendered service of an outstanding nature within the district. Nomination forms are due by December 7th.
Webelos First Aid Rally: February 10, 2018 at Camp Somers, Mount Allamuchy Scout Reservation from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm. This program is designed to cover First Responder requirement, plus the Webelos and his parent will earn Basic First Aid card and CPR certification. Limited to 48 Webelos and 48 adults. Registration is open through the Fishawack calendar at www.ppcbsa.org.
Fishawack District Pinewood Derby: The first, second and third place finishers for each rank level at your pack’s Pinewood Derby will qualify for the Fishawack District Pinewood Derby on April 14, 2018. Time and location to be determined. Finalists in the district derby will qualify for the 2018 World Pinewood Derby which we expect national will be holding in New York City again (they have not officially announced).
December Rechartering: Fishawack charters will expire on December 31, 2017. All recharter materials will be emailed to your unit’s committee chair. Fees for full year are $63 per Scout and $45 per registered adult.
Toy Drive: The Patriots’ Path Council Community Service Committee invites each pack, troop or crew to join in our toy drive. Set up a collection box in your town, collect from your unit’s members. All toys should be new and unwrapped. Donations can be brought to the University of Scouting, Fishawack’s December roundtable or to the Scout Shop by December 15th. University of Scouting: December 2nd in Randolph. A day full of various training modules for all Scouters. Register by November 10 for the regular $20 fee. November 11 to November 19, the late fee is $30. Register through the council calendar at www.ppcbsa.org.
Training: Cub Scout Leader Specific training can be taken online at www.my.scouting.org. Dates for in-person training sessions and registration links for all training courses can be found at https://ppcbsa.org/committees/training/.
Cub Scout Leader Specific will be given on November 15th in Somerville. It will also be offered at the University of Scouting on December 2nd.
BALOO is required for any pack camping activity (at least one trained leader). It will be given next on March 24 at Camp Wheeler.
Boy Scout Leader Specific training can be taken on November 4th in Pluckemin.
Intro to Outdoor Leader Skills will next be offered on April 6-8, 2018 at Winnebago Scout Reservation or on May 4-6, 2018, also at Winnebago Scout Reservation.
