Roundtable Changing Days: In September, we will move to the first Wednesday of each month. Roundtable will still be at the council service center, 1 Saddle Road in Cedar Knolls, from 7:30-9:00 pm.

Lions: The Lion pilot was very successful in its first year. Those packs that participated now have the nucleus for next year’s Tiger den and have identified their Tiger leaders. All Fishawack packs are encouraged to adopt the pilot for September. Contact Al Thomas for more info, [email protected]

Congratulations: To those units who have already reached their goal for Friends of Scouting – Pack 34, Pack 68, Pack 69, Pack 142, Pack 201, Pack 228 and Troop 28, Troop 41, Troop 74, Troop 155, Troop 173 and Troop 333. Many others are closing in on their goal. Unit rewards can be earned up to June 30. For help with your unit, contact Fishawack FOS Chair Mike Murray, [email protected]

Popcorn: A successful popcorn campaign can fill your unit’s treasury for the year ahead. Twenty training sessions for unit kernels will be offered from May 2nd to September 28th. Each session is limited to 12 units attending. The kernel can bring along their Cubmaster, Scoutmaster, den leaders, committee members, senior patrol leaders, or ANYONE who is interested in helping make this year’s sale a success. Sign up at ppbsa.doubleknot.com/event/2097922.

Fall Boy Scout Camporee: Put it on your troop calendar. The Fishawack Boy Scout Camporee will be at Camp Somers, Mount Allamuchy Scout Reservation September 22-24, 2017.

Fall Cubelos: The Fishawack Cubelos will be October 21-22, 2017 at Mt. Allamuchy Scout Reservation Camp Somers. BB guns, archery, zip line, and more, plus camping with your pack. Any pack that wishes to participate must send a representative to a planning meeting on Thursday, June 15th at 7:00 pm at the council service center.

Webelos Adventure: During the Fall Cubelos, Webelos and Arrow of Light Scouts have the option of hiking to Camp Wheeler for a Webelos Adventure. Boys and their parent will spend the afternoon covering some of their rank requirements. They will hike back to Camp Somers for dinner and camping with the rest of their pack.

Cubmobile: Saturday, November 4, from noon – 3:00 pm at William Mason School in Montville. Online registration opens September 1st through the Fishawack calendar at www.ppbsa.org. For more info, contact Al Thomas, [email protected], 973-765-9322 x229.

Fishawack’s Finest Fellowship Dinner and Annual Meeting: Our district annual meeting will be at the Fishawack’s Finest Fellowship Dinner, January 23, 2018. This is an opportunity to say thank you to a volunteer in your unit by naming them your Fishawack’s Finest for 2018.

2018 Klondike: Saturday, February 3, 2018 at Camp Somers, Mount Allamuchy Scout Reservation. Boy Scouts will test their winter outdoor skills. Webelos will be invited to attend mid-day to observe troops in action and for some fun activities.

2018 Spring Cub Family Camping – May 5-6, 2018 at Winnebago Scout Reservation. This a smaller event than the Cubelos. The district team runs some stations (rather than the packs) and lots of free time for each pack to do its own thing.

2018 Fishawack Pinewood Derby – on April 14, 2018. The 1st, 2nd and 3rd place car for each rank from your pack’s PWD can compete against the rest of Fishawack. District finalists can attend the National Pinewood Derby which we expect will be held in Times Square in June. Registration will open through the Fishawack calendar on February 14th. Pre-registration will be required.
